Public radio is learning news gathering lessons from crappy for-profit news sites

Go to the Peoria Public Radio site, the station associated with Bradley University. Look around and remember how the news is presented. Now, go to WGLT.org, the site for the station associated with Illinois State University.

The use the exact same Website design, and to the bottom of the page, which lists the exact same stories with the exact same headlines and articles.

There is usually a sense of serendipity when you browse the Web looking for news. You never know what you will find. But THIS is just an example of how the news is being homogenized by newspaper chains.

I’m just shocked that public radio stations are taking a cue from crappy newspaper chains like GateHouse Media.
