I’ve been trying to turn The Peoria Pundit into a vast media empire for about 10 years now. I’m sick of it. I don’t have the financial resources to pull it off, and I’m getting too old to keep trying.
So, I am ratcheting back and positioning this site into what it was when I started — a BLOG about Peoria politics and media. There will be no more “reporting” per se. occasionally, I can see some reporting HAPPENING, but it’s not a goal of mine any more.
I’m not going to run any ads. THAT has been a dead end for a number of years. I’ll leave my PayPal donation button up as a tip jar for those fans who want to buy me a drink at Starbucks every once in a while.
Now, there might be a drop off of posts. But then there might not be. I look back on the early days, and I occasionally had ten-post days.
I remain bullish on BLOGGING. People need to publish their opinions on how local government operates. And they need to do it on their own terms. Facebook owns ever single word you upload to their server, and there is no searching of old posts. Only blogs allow for that. I’ll help anyone who wants advice on how to do that.
