COP snow fighter crews have begun the residential street clearing this evening. Because of the road and air temperatures holding above 32 degrees currently, we are getting some snow melt. The snow melt coupled with the forecasted drop in temperatures this evening and into the overnight hours may cause a refreeze on the pavement as we head into the daylight hours. For this reason we will be salting the intersections only as we plow on the residential streets for stop and start traction. This will hopefully help with travel for the school buses and the travelling public to get to work, school, and etc. By early morning before rush hour, we will be also be monitoring the primary streets for any salt treatment that would be necessary for safe travel.
