On November 16, 2016 Peoria Police officers developed information as to the whereabouts of Wilfredo C. Wilson (32) who was wanted by Illinois Department of Corrections on a no bond Parole Warrant.
At approximately 5 p.m., members of the Target Offender Unit located a vehicle known to be driven by Wilson, parked in the Schlarman House parking lot, 707 Northeast Madison Avenue.
When officers converged on the vehicle, Wilson proceeded to ram three police vehicles and drive thru the wrought iron fence surrounding the Schlarman House property. Wilson fled the area at a high rate of speed and hit three additional privately owned vehicles, sending one victim to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Wilson eventually exited his vehicle on Jefferson just south of Spring and fled on foot. A brief foot chase ensued with Wilson being taken into custody in the area of the 1200 block of Northeast Jefferson.
Wilson was arrested for the following: No bond IDOC warrant, (3) counts of Aggravated Battery on
Police with a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Disobeying a Stop Sign, Wrong Way on a One Way, Aggravated Fleeing & Eluding, Speeding (over 30), Aggravated Reckless Driving, Driving While License Suspended, (3) counts of Hit & Run, No Insurance, and numerous other traffic violations.
