The City of Peoria will hold a public meeting for the Western Avenue street improvement project at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 20 at the Peoria Public Library Lincoln Branch, 1312 W. Lincoln Avenue. The public is invited to view a presentation and to share feedback for the proposed design elements regarding the valuable enhancements the project will bring to a vital corridor of the City of Peoria.
The project limits along Western Avenue run from Lincoln Avenue to Adams Street. The purpose of the project is to increase safety for all users and positively impact the surrounding natural environment. Street improvements will include on-street parking, pedestrian accommodations, bicycle accommodations, green infrastructure, stormwater drainage and improved lighting. The City will use this opportunity to receive desired community input in the early planning stage of the project.
