Aaron Schock’s political director attended New York event … which wasn’t about politics, allegedly

rp_aaron_schock_head-150x1501.jpgHere is some additional info about Aaron Schock’s trip to New York City

The Sun-Times reported Monday that 10 Schock staffers went to New York last September on a $10,053 taxpayer-funded trip where most of them had few official duties during a weekend stay at the Palace Hotel.

It turns out there is at least one more.

Federal Election Commission reports show a November payment of $1,005 from Schock’s GOP Generation Y political action committee to the Palace Hotel. A Schock spokesman confirmed that check covered expenses for Schock political director Karen Haney’s weekend in New York.

So, the trip was absolutely 100 percent legitimate government work, which is why Schock billed taxpayers. Or, the trip was about getting his ass re-elected, so he brought his political director.

It’s as clear as mud.

  1. It’s good to see Karen McDonald making headlines again. One would think that a former political reporter would know right from wrong. Couldn’t happen to a nicer group of people.

  2. Glad to be of service. I like to think I have an extremely high batting average when it comes to Congressman Schock and Karen McDonald Haney. Although I have to give her credit, she fooled me for awhile when she was at the PJStar. It does not surprise me though that she would end up working for a person who is ethically challenged.
